Let the fun begin…
So this coming Sunday, two things are happening… My friend Aidan is firing up his diabolic webcomic, Scapula after some time away from his toon desk. You can find it at http://www.scapulacomic.com
Second… You can head over to Squidrowcomics.com for an extra bonus toon. Yup, Saturday AND Sunday… the whole weekend! So if you need a break from all the snacking and football-ery, take a few moments to read the Sunday Funnies with us! Good times.
Yesterday I got my Mac back…I received an email late on Friday night that I could pick up my laptop at anytime. So yesterday I grabbed my laptop bag and headed to The Apple Store.
It was the best of what could happen… the results, I mean. The surgeons replaced the brain and battery … and so I have lengthened the life of my laptop… and nothing, so far as I can tell, has been lost! Hooray!!! And Joy!
Monday, it’s back to work as usual… with a sigh of relief.
So after the Saturday pickup… and giddy happiness… I used the rest of the afternoon to stroll the beach while experiencing some unseasonably warm weather and springlike weather.
Hello Randie & Ryan-ers/Squiddies…
No word on my laptop. I’m hoping that it is on its way back from the computer hospital and I will get a call soon.
Work wise (sans laptop), I have mapped out a goodly bit of storyline … and gotten some writing in. If you would like a peek, keep reading… if not, skip the next paragraph and read on where it’s safe.
So there’s some fun with the art show featuring all the hard work Spill and Randie did creating the army of gold gnomes. I’ve written in some old familiar faces and we’ll see just what Jimmy did with thone 300 gnomes. There’s also some Enid backstory (based on some current events in my circle of friends’ lives) and Joe’s Cuppa Joe stuff… but that’s a ways down the road.
OKAY*** SAFE starts here!
Anyhow… I’ve not been working at the office lately… due to some illness at home, so I’ve been spending a lot of time at the “home office” … My cat doesn’t seem to mind. However, she’s unhappy with me right now as I’ve locked her in the house; She has a tendency to fight with other outdoor cats, and lately she’s had some “fight spots” on her ears and back… so I’m letting them heal up before I unleash her back into the ring. She lets me know how unhappy she is by clawing on stuff… little brat. Anyhow… there’s an Ella comic storyline in there somewhere.
Well… I’ll keep you posted on things. Thanks for the support y’all!
The mood at Chez Bridgett is somber… and yet, somehow upbeat. My MacBookPro fell ill last week. Blue screens are the sign of big trouble on laptops… and I immediately called Apple. It culminated into a trip to my local Apple Store’s Genius Bar. And after running diagnostics… it was determined that my laptop would need to be admitted to the hospital and then surgery would probably be necessary. I am obviously feeling pretty low. I use my laptop in EVERY creative endeavor involving my cartooning. So it is kind of a big deal. I feel a bit like Ryan with his Bug in the shop.
Fortunately, I have an iPadPro… which is helpful but not a replacement for what I do. I can sketch and create things, but Photoshop is not something it can do. I do have a much older MacBookPro that I can do some things on… but there is no internet capability which complicates matters.
The Genius folks informed me that the fix can take up to 10 days. And this puts the comic behind greatly. I will try my bestest to keep the flow of toons uninterrupted… but there may be a bit of a gap depending on things. I apologize. I am currently two weeks out… so things won’t be problematic until mid February. I will keep you posted and will focus on writing in the meantime. Keep your eyes in this blog area for iPad stuff, too. Smiles and thanks ahead of time for your patience.
I blame the gnomes.
